I Want To Eat A Child - Picture Book

This set has been entered into the Victoria & Albert 2013 illustration awards in the Student Category. I hope I win but I'm aware of the general census on contemporary illustration and these sort of competitions, that something like this is probably not what they're looking for. But fingers crossed.

Madness of crowds: Will Self visits Las Vegas. Editorial

I focused more on the fading of vegas, using transparency and mirage, and made it desolate, this idea could've also worked in a casino, but the desert was my choice.

Everything stops for giant pocky; so far

This is what I have so far, got the outside to finish in Inkscape (vector) and the inside is painted in photoshop.

Still got over a week on this, what will change;

The outside was green, but i've tried to add contrast with the lighting, the bottom is dark with no light, as a result of having no lighting, the text will be refined and lit-up like the top, though without the bulbs, so some green should still peak through.

The orange behind the image needs changing to something more suitable, i can't think of what to go behind it, or think of the best colour, its not bad but kinda saturates the unfinished illustration of the Frankenstein, The illustration will receive a little more detail, mainly to add shadowy areas to the characters, and maybe some lighting from the outside (And possibly from behind, i'm thinking Lightning, but not sure yet, i want it to try and remain cartoon-like)

The Pocky switch and wires will receive plenty of changes to fit the image better, its still fairly straightforward as it was a spur of the moment idea and a basic shape.

Plenty to do, hopefully this will be done by tuesday/wednesday so i can do some more dissertation. YAWN lol.

Arizona Drinks Can Competition

Well, i didn't win but I loved my design, it was probably too illustrated and not graphic enough for their design. The winners were quite good, but they were the best of the bunch, thousands applied and a lot were just poor, as everyone was applying, i knew id put a lot of time into this so i knew i did what i could and really gave out something i was proud of, even though it didn't win.

This is my Zoo Keeper Bullied at work piece, based on 2 words put together to create a topic, took me a while to get this idea, but when I did it was random, and was exactly how I wanted it without much editing.
